1997-2006
Judith Silverthorne founded Spiral Film Productions Inc. in January of 1997. For several years, the company operated with that name, producing television documentary shows about artists in varying disciplines. Over time the company expanded with Judith being hired out to do scriptwriting and production work for other companies.*
In 2000, the name was changed to Spiral Communications Inc. to make it more encompassing of what projects were being done through the company, which included some book publishing, research, writing, and video sales. Judith also did the scriptwriting and various other tasks, such as director, production assistant, photographer, and was a consultant within her own company and for others.
Judith Silverthorne was the owner/producer of Spiral Communications Inc until 2006, when she closed the company to pursue other creative activities. She continued to engage in various aspects of video and television related freelance producing, script writing, and other work.
in 2016, she created Silverlight Productions Inc with her son and they make documentaries and publish books through this company.

Roger Ing’s Utopia, a half hour documentary on Saskatchewan artist, Roger Ing and the phenomena of his Utopia Café (1998). Produced for SCN, CBC, Vision TV, and Knowledge Network, with funding from SaskFILM, the National Film Board of Canada. 
Ingrained Legacy, is a half hour documentary on pioneer woodworkers in Saskatchewan, produced by Spiral Communications in 1997.
Splinters, a series of ten vignettes, featuring early Saskatchewan woodworkers and furniture makers, produced for SCN, Bravo, NFB, & CTV Saskatchewan. Produced by Spiral Film Productions Inc., 1997. Producer, Writer, Researcher: Judith Silverthorne

A half-hour documentary drama based on Judith Silverthorne’s book Made in Saskatchewan. Televised on SCN, CBC regional and broadcast on CBC nationally February, 1994 on Arts & Entertainment. (This video is being used in the Saskatchewan Education system in social studies, art, and history in conjunction with the book.) Co-produced with Grasslands Productions Inc. (Docu-drama).
